Appleton Road Construction Report

The Road Construction Report is maintained by the City’s Department of Public Works (832-6474) to advise motorists of work zones that may interrupt traffic in the community. Motorists are encouraged to plan their routes accordingly and are urged to exercise caution in construction zones.


Work Scheduled to take place between: 6/25/2012 - 9/28/2012 

ADAMS ST:  Adams Street from Foster Street to Seymour Street is closed to traffic to facilitate the reconstruction of the asphalt pavement.  The construction of Adams Street is expected to be complete by August 3rd.

ALLEY N OF COLLEGE:  A Time Warner Cable contractor will close the Alley north of College Ave, between Division Street and Superior Street, on Tuesday, August 7th, to perform underground utility work.  Access from Division will be completely blocked.    

ALVIN ST:  This is an emergency repair to the sanitary sewer main on Alvin Street between Roosevelt St. and Parkway Blvd. Residents shall have access to there driveways at all times. This repair should take approx. 5 Hrs.

APPLEBEND DR:  Applebend Drive from Ashbury Drive to Braeburn Drive is closed to traffic to facilitate the construction of new concrete pavement.  The construction of Applebend Drive is expected to be complete by September 28th.

BRAEBURN DR:  Braeburn Drive from Applebend Drive to Fuji Drive is closed to traffic to facilitate the construction of new concrete pavement.  The construction of Braeburn Drive is expected to be complete by September 28th.

BREWSTER ST:  Brewster Street from Clark Street to Oneida Street is closed to traffic to facilitate the reconstruction of the asphalt pavement.  The construction of Brewster Street is expected to be complete by July 13th.

COLLEGE AVE:  A City contractor will be restricting College Avenue to one lane in each direction between Drew Street and Lawe Street to make improvements to the Lawrence University crosswalks.  Lane restrictions will take place beginning Tuesday July 17, and lasting up to 5 days.    

COOP RD:  Coop Road from Garnett Drive to Midway Road will be closed to traffic Monday September 17th from 7 am to 2 pm to facilitate asphalt patching of the existing street.

DIVISION ST:  On July 23rd the intersection of Division Street and Roosevelt Street shall be closed to thru traffic due to water main construction. A detour shall be established. The detour route for Division Street shall consist of Wisconsin Avenue to Oneida Street to Glendale Avenue. The intersection shall be back open to traffic by 5:00 p.m. on July 24th.

DOUGLAS ST:  Douglas St, Spencer St to Eighth St will be closed to thru traffic starting Wednesday, July 18 for sewer reconstruction. Work on this block is estimated to be completed by July 27, 2012

DOUGLAS ST:  Douglas Street, from Spencer Street to College Avenue will be closed to thru traffic  for sewer and water reconstruction. Work is estimated to be completed by September 21, 2012.

EAGLE FLATS PKWY:  Eagle Flats Parkway will closed for road construction from N. Olde Oneida St. to 1200 feet east of N. Olde oneida St. from 09/21/12 to 09/24/12.

FOURTH ST:  Fourth Street from Memorial Drive to State Street is closed to traffic to facilitate the reconstruction of the asphalt pavement.  The construction of Fourth Street is expected to be complete by July 6th.

FREMONT ST:  Fremont Street, Oneida St to Jackson St. will restrict east bound traffic for pavement restoration starting Wednesday, August 8.  A detour for east bound will be established using Oneida St-Calumet St- Lawe St.  Work is estimated to be completed by August 24, 2012. 

FRENCH RD:  French Road, north of CTH JJ, will be closed to thru traffic beginning Friday, September 14th for a private utility contractor to install water utilities.  Closure expected to last thru Wednesday, September 19th until roadway restoration is complete.  A detour using Ballard Road will be posted.    

GLENDALE AVE:  Intersection of Ballard Road & Glendale Avenue will be closed for sewer and water reconstruction starting on September 12.  A detour has been established using Meade St to Northland Ave (CTH "OO") to Roemer Road.  After completion of the intersection of Ballard & Glendale, Ballard south of Glendale will be opened to thru traffic.    

GUNN ST:  On September 4th, Gunn Street from Telulah Ave. to Walter Ave. will be closed to thru traffic due to sewer and water reconstruction. Residents shall have access to there driveways at the end of each workday. The estimated completion date, including site restoration is October 26th.

HARRIMAN ST:  On August 14th, the intersection of Harriman St. and Brewster St. will be closed to thru traffic due to sanitary sewer construction. The intersection will be reopened by 5:30 p.m.

HARRIMAN ST:  On May 29th, Harriman Street from Brewster Street to Parkway Boulevard will be closed to through traffic due to sanitary sewer, storm sewer and water main reconstruction. Residents will have access to there driveways at the end of each workday. The estimated completion date for Harriman Street, including site restoration is September 14th. 

HARRIMAN ST:  On July 11th, Harriman Street from Wisconsin Avenue to Brewster Street will be closed to thru traffic due to sanitary sewer and water main replacemnt. Residents will have access to there driveways at the end of each workday. The estimated completion date, including site restoration is August 31st.

LAWRENCE ST:  Private utitlity contractor will close Lawrence Street to thru traffic, between Douglas Street and Outagamie Street, for sewer repair.  Work is schedule for Tuesday, June 26th.    

LINWOOD AVE:  The west side parking lane of Linwood Ave at the intersection of Reeve will be closed for water main installation starting Monday, July 9th. Work is estimated to be completed by Monday, July 16.

MEADE ST:  Meade Street, from Evergreen Drive to Castlebury Lane will have the right lane closed starting Thursday, July 12 for water main construction. Work is estimated to be completed by July 20, 2012.

NEWBERRY ST:  Newberry Street will be closed from 7am on on Tuesday, July 23, until 5pm on Monday, July 30, as crews repair the Canadian National rail crossing.  A detour will be in place, following Kensington Dr and College Av.

OLDE ONEIDA ST:  The Olde Oneida Street Bridge over the Fox River will be closed through April 1, 2013 for bridge reconstruction .  A detour has been set up and will be marked as Water Street, Drew Street, College Avenue, Lawe Street and South Island Street.

OLDE ONEIDA ST:  South River Street, from Olde Oneida St to Madison Street will be closed to thru traffic for sewer and water reconstruction...A detour will be established using Olde Oneida St to South Island Street to Lawe Street to South River Street.  Work is estimated to be completed by September 28, 2012.

ONEIDA ST:  Oneida St, from Pacific Street to Atlantic Street will be closed for south bound traffic for pavement repairs Monday, September 24 to approx. noon on  Friday September 28.  A detour for south bound will use Pacific St to Appleton St (at Pacific).   

ONEIDA ST:  A Town of Menasha contractor will be restricing traffic on southbound Oneida Street at Wilson Avenue to one lane to perform sewer utility installation and pavement restoration work.  Lane closures to begin Wednesday, July 11th and last up to 4 days.

OUTAGAMIE ST:  R.J. Albright will be closing Outagamie Street, between Spencer Street and Fourth Street, to perform work in the street for Good Will Co.  Work and closure is scheduled to begin Monday, July 23rd, and last throughout the week.

OUTAGAMIE ST:  Outagamie Street will be closed between Melvin Street and Second from 8:00 a.m. on Monday, September 17th, until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 21st, as Canadian National Railroad crews repair the railroad crossing. A detour will be established.

OUTAGAMIE ST:  Outagamie St, Spencer St to College Ave will be closed to thru traffic starting Monday, July 9 for sewer and water reconstruction. Work is estimated to be completed by August 17, 2012

PACIFIC ST:  A City Contractor will be closing Pacific Street Bridge, ease of Vine Street, during off-peak hours (8:30AM - 3:00PM) to perform bridge maintenance.  Closure is scheduled for Thursday, June 28th.    

PACIFIC ST:  Pacific Street, from Superior Street to Oneida St will be closed to thru traffic for pavement repairs. Work is estimated to be completed on/by October 4, 2012. 

PROSPECT AVE:  Prospect Avenue, Sixth Street to Appleton Street will be closed to west bound traffic starting Wednesday, Spetember 12 for sidewalk and pavement repairs.  East bound traffic will be maintained.  No access to/from Sixth Street.  Work is estimated to be completed by Monday, September 24, 2012.

RANKIN ST:  On Monday, September 10th, the northbound parking lane on Rankin Street at Atlantic Street will be closed to traffic due to water main construction. Rankin Street shall have one lane of traffic open in each direction at all times.

RICHMOND ST:  Richmond St, from n/o Parkway Blvd to n/o Glendale Avenue will be restricted to one lane in each direction for repairs of the two north bound lanes starting Wednesday, July 18. Left hand turns will be restricted. Work is estimated to be completed on/by August 3, 2012.

ROGERS AVE:  Rogers Avenue from Herbert Street to Prospect Avenue is closed to traffic to facilitate the reconstruction of the asphalt pavement.  The construction of Rogers Avenue is expected to be complete by July 13th.

ROOSEVELT ST:  On July 16th Roosevelt Street from Division Street to Alvin Street will be closed to thru traffic due to water main construction. Residents will have access to there driveways at the end of each workday. The estimated completion date, including site restoration is August 17th.

ROOSEVELT ST:  On July 18th the intersection of Roosevelt Street and Alvin Street will be closed to thru traffic due to water main construction. Residents shall have access to their driveways during construction. The estimated completion date is July 19th.

SNOWDEN PL:  Snowden Drive from Greenleaf Drive to Stargaze Drive is closed to traffic to facilitate the construction of new concrete pavement.  The construction of Snowden Drive is expected to be complete by September 28th.

SOLDIER'S SQ:  Soldier's Square from Oneida Street to Morrison Street will be closed to thru traffic starting June 25th to facilitate the reconstruction of the existing pavement and sidewalk.  The reconstruction of Soldier's Square is expected to be complete by August 17th.

SOUTH RIVER ST:  South River Street, from Olde Oneida St to Madison Street will be closed to thru traffic for sewer and water reconstruction.  No access to/from Olde Oneida Street.  A detour will be established using Olde Oneida St to South Island Street to Lawe Street to South River Street.  Work is estimated to be completed by September 28, 2012.

SPENCER ST:  Spencer St at the intersection of S. Douglas Street will have the right lane closed for installation of storm sewer on Douglas Street, starting Monday, July 30. Spencer St restrictions will be cleared by August 3, 2012.

STARGAZE DR:  Stargaze Drive from Greenleaf Drive to Snowden Place is closed to traffic to facilitate the construction of new concrete pavement.  The construction of Stargaze Drive is expected to be complete by September 28th.

TELULAH AVE:  On September 5th the intersection of Telulah Avenue and Gunn Street will be closed to traffic due to sewer construction. Telulah Avenue will re-open to traffic at 5:00 P.M.

TELULAH AVE:  The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will be reconstructing the approaches to the Telulah Avenue overpass of WIS 441. Telulah Avenue will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic from July 17, 2012 to August 24, 2012.  A construction detour of Plank Road (CTY AP), Lake Park Road (CTY LP), and Calumet Street (CTY KK) has been set for the project duration.

TONKA ST:  On September 27th, Tonka Street from North Street to Atlantic Street will be closed to thru traffic due to sewer and water reconstruction. Residents will have access to there driveways at the end of each workday. The estimated completion date, including site restoration is November 5th.

VALLEY RD:  A Town of Menasha Contractor will close Valley Road, west of Kerry Lane, beginning Wednesday, August 15th, to perform water utility construction.  Work is scheduled to last up to three days.  A detour route will be posted.    

WASHINGTON ST:  Washington Street from Division Street to Oneida Street will be closed to thru traffic to facilitate the reconstruction of the existing pavement and sidewalk.  The first part of the project, which will start Wednesday June 20th, will involve closing the intersection of Washington St and Superior St to install new storm sewer.  The remainder of Washington Street will remain open until Monday June 25th, at which time the entire project length will be closed to facilitate the reconstruction of the existing pavement and sidewalk.  The reconstruction of Washington Street is expected to be complete by September 28th.

WASHINGTON ST:  Washington Street from Morrison Street to Drew Street will be closed to thru traffic to facilitate the reconstruction of the existing pavement and sidewalk.  The first part of the project, which will start Wednesday June 20th, will involve closing the intersection of Washington St and Durkee St to install new storm sewer.  The remainder of Washington Street will remain open until Monday June 25th, at which time the entire project length will be closed to facilitate the reconstruction of the existing pavement and sidewalk.  The reconstruction of Washington Street is expected to be complete by September 28th.

WISCONSIN AVE:  Wisconsin Avenue will be closed to eastbound traffic between Maede Street and Viola Street on Tuesday, September 18th, from 9am to 11am.  Eastbound traffic will be detoured using Meade Street, Commercial Street & Rankin Street.  Westbound traffic will be unaffected.
