The City of Appleton’s Memorial Day Ceremony

The ceremony takes place immediately following the Parade in historic Riverside Cemetery, 714 North Owaissa Street, Appleton, at the George D. Eggleston, G.A.R. monument.
A short, second ceremony occurs after the city ceremony at the Appleton American Legion Post No. 38 plot in the same cemetery. This plot is located at the entrance of St. Joseph Cemetery within Riverside.

Sara Laabs, Keynote Speaker, Appleton Memorial Day Ceremony

Sara Laabs

17 years old, Sara just finished her junior year at Fox Valley Lutheran High School in Appleton, WI. Today, she is honored to pay tribute to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Sara is an active member in National Honors Society and the Fox Folk Marionette Troupe. Because of her love for public speaking, she is the captain of the Forensics team. This year she won first place at the state competition in Madison, taking home the gold medal. Sara also contributes to her community by teaching Sunday school at her home church in Neenah. During the summers, Sara is a counselor at Camp Philip in Wautoma, WI – a Christian outreach camp for people of all ages.
