Traffic Information for 68th Annual Appleton Flag Day Parade
 
 

Motorists traveling through the Appleton area (specifically the downtown, Erb Park and City Park areas) should plan alternate routes during the upcoming Flag Day Parade.
 
The 68th Annual Appleton Flag Day Parade will take place on Saturday, June 9, 2018. It begins at 2 PM and ends at approximately 4:30 PM. To allow for staging of the vehicles involved in the event, specific roadways will be closed starting at 12 PM (noon).
 
Street closings:
 
1.  The following streets around the Erb Park staging area will be closed to traffic starting at 12 PM (noon):

E. Wisconsin Avenue (between N. Oneida Street and N. Drew Street)
E. Glendale Avenue (between N. Oneida Street and N. Drew Street)
N. Morrison Street (between E. Wisconsin Avenue and N. Drew Street)
E. Parkway Boulevard (between N. Oneida Street and N. Morrison Street)
E. Roosevelt Street (between N. Oneida Street and N. Durkee Street)
E. Circle Street (between N. Morrison Street and N. Durkee Street)
E. Brewster Street (between N. Oneida Street and N. Drew Street)
E. Randall Street (between N. Oneida Street and N. Drew Street)

2.  At 1:15 PM the following streets are closed to traffic (both on the roadway and cross traffic):

E. Wisconsin Avenue (between N. Richmond Street and N. Drew Street)
N. State Street (between W. Wisconsin Avenue and W. College Avenue)
College Avenue (between Richmond/Memorial and Lawe Street)

The parade begins at 2 PM at the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and N. Oneida Street. It follows a route along W. Wisconsin Avenue to N. State Street. It follows N. State Street to W. College Avenue. At W. College Avenue the parade travels east to Drew Street. During the parade, the following streets will be closed to traffic:

Wisconsin Avenue N. State Street (between W. Wisconsin Avenue and W. College Avenue)
College Ave (between Richmond/Memorial and Lawe Street)

Following the parade, the area around City Park is utilized for pick-up of parade participants and tear-down of parade units. As a result, the following streets in that area will experience higher than normal levels of traffic:

E. Franklin Street
N. Union Street
E. North Street
E. Eldorado Street
N. Bateman Street
E. Pacific Street

A reminder to those individuals attending these events:

•    NO alcoholic beverage carry-ins allowed at the events
•    NO glass containers
•    NO animals are allowed at special events
•    Pedestrians must obey all traffic laws at intersections around the event
•    Individuals consuming alcoholic beverages should plan a safe ride home
•    Extra patrols will be out during and after the events to help ensure
      a safe time for all
